The known spider parasites of New Zealand

Abstract

New Zealand’s spider fauna may fall victim to many types of parasitism from a variety of taxa, however few interactions have been formally published. Following a literature search, all known parasites of New Zealand’s spiders as of April 2020 are categorized. While Hymenopteran parasites are well studied, there appear to be significant gaps in the literature. It is suggested that study of the Acroceridae and the Acari is likely to reveal new parasitic interactions.
