Abstract

On 15 December 2010, Mr. Dennis W. Gray found two Japanese beetles behind the interior panelling of a used 2006 Toyota Corolla saloon car imported from Japan by Carbase Auto Village, 508 Kaikorai Valley Road, Dunedin, when Mr. Gray was inspecting the vehicle for roadworthiness at Vehicle Inspections New Zealand Limited, Teviot St., South Dunedin. These beetles were Dicerca furcata (Thunberg, 1787), Family Buprestidae, and Popillia japonica Newman, 1841, family Scarabaeidae.
