Abstract

Thorp and Beggs remark on the similarity between the longhorn beetle Drototelus politus Broun and an ichneumonid, based on the physical appearance of dead specimens of the former collected in traps. They allude to my paper of 1978, where I report on the very strong resemblance of the congener D. elegans (Brooks) (as Neocalliprason elegans) to the ichneumonid Xanthocryptus novozealandicus (Dalla Torre).
