Further observations on host plants of adult weevil (Coleoptera: Curculionidae)
Abstract
Adult weevils found on potential host plants were tested for host feeding on undamaged leaves in the laboratory. Host plants were identified for five species: Phlyctinus callosus Boheman, 1834 makes notches in leaves of Agapanthus praecox Willd. (Liliaceae); two Praolepra species make holes in leaves of Coprosma repens A. Rich. and C. robusta Raoul (Rubiaceae), respectively; two Simachus species make tiny holes in leaves of Hebe stricta (Benth.) L.B. Moore and H. macrocarpa (Vahl) Cockayne & Allan (Scrophulariaceae), respectively.
