Entomologists at Mt Algidus

Abstract

A River Rules my Life describes life at Mt. Algidus, a high country station of 40,470 hectares, bounded in the north-west by the main divide of the Southern Alps and in the north-east by the Wilberforce River. It is roughly 130 km west-north-west from Christchurch. An area of native forest on the slopes of Mt. Algidus has entomological significance, as the type locality for scores of species of insects and other invertebrates.
