Abstract

On the 27th December 2012 around 8:30pm I found a 33mm long female specimen of Lasiorhynchus barbicornis (Fabricius 1775) alive on the wood shed of Hokuri Hut on the Hollyford Track near the northern shore of Lake McKerrow, Fiordland (FD) at latitude 44° 25' 16'' S. Lincoln University PhD student S. Brown examined and confirmed this identification on the 7th January 2013, and University of Auckland PhD student C. Painting also confirmed this identification from photos I took at the collection site (Figure 1). The specimen is lodged in the author's collection.
