Note on the likely misidentification of host plant for Bipuncticoris triplex Eyles & Carvalho, 1995 (Heteroptera: Miridae)

Abstract

There are three male paratypes of Bipuncticoris triplex Eyles & Carvalho, 1995 (NZAC04065910, NZAC04066022 and NZAC04066025) with the following collecting data: AK, Waitemata Harbour, Traherne I., on Cassinia leptophylla, 10 Oct 1977, J. S. Dugdale (taken as larvae and reared to adults).

I herein suggest that Cassinia leptophylla is almost certainly a misidentification for Olearia solandri.
