Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word (*.docx, *.doc) file format.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines below.

Author Guidelines

- Submissions for The Wētā are accepted at any time.

- There is no formal peer review process for submissions to The Wētā, but articles will be assessed by the Editor as to their suitability for the journal, spelling and grammatical errors, and to see where clarity of language and illustration could be improved.

- Papers should be prepared using Microsoft Word, with page size A5, and figures and tables embedded in the document. 

- The font should be single-spaced Times New Roman: Bold size 14 for the title, bold size 12 for author names, and size 11 for the main text.  The main text should be justified.

- Margins should be mirrored and set to: Top 2 cm, Bottom 1.5 cm, Inside 1.4 cm and Outside 1.7 cm.

- If high resolution image files are large, then then they can be submitted separately from the main document.  Colour photographs/illustrations will be published free of charge.

- There is no standard formatting for references, but authors should be consistent within their manuscript.  Use a recent published paper for examples of acceptable formatting. Webpages can be given in the reference section, or in the main body of the text if not too long.

- Author names should be given in full (i.e. first and last names).
